All about Bees!
An Ancient Connection
For thousands of years, bees have been part of the human story. Ancient cultures collected wild honey long before beekeeping began, valuing it as food, medicine and something truly precious.
Over time, people learned to care for bees and keep hives, beginning a relationship that continues today. Yet the story of bees stretches back far beyond our own — bees have been pollinating flowering plants for millions of years, quietly helping shape the landscapes and ecosystems we know today. Their history is remarkable, and their future is something worth protecting.

Why Bees Matter
Bees may be small, but they play an extraordinary role in the world around us.
As they move from flower to flower collecting nectar and pollen, bees pollinate countless plants, helping them produce seeds, fruits and new growth. This makes them an important part of healthy gardens, farms, native vegetation and the wider ecosystem.
Here in South East Queensland, bees are surrounded by an incredible diversity of flowering plants, from native trees and wildflowers to backyard gardens, orchards and flowering crops. Every healthy bee colony contributes to this natural cycle of growth and renewal.
Bees Need Our Help
Today, Bees face a number of challenges. Loss of flowering habitat, fewer diverse food sources, pesticides, extreme weather and changing environmental conditions can all place pressure on bee populations. Australian beekeepers are also dealing with the arrival and spread of Varroa mite, a parasite that attacks honey bees and can seriously weaken or destroy colonies if it is not carefully managed.
Supporting bees doesn't have to be complicated. Planting bee-friendly flowers, allowing a little more diversity in our gardens, avoiding unnecessary pesticide use and supporting
responsible Australian beekeepers can all make a difference.
A Little Wild Is a Good Thing
At Bee Wild Currumbin Valley, we believe bees are a beautiful reminder of how connected we are to the natural world.
A flowering tree, a buzzing garden and a thriving hive are all part of the same story. By caring for our bees and the places they forage, we're also helping to care for the landscapes, plants and wildlife that make our part of Australia so special.
Bee Wild. Let it flower. Let it grow. Let it buzz. ♥
